Coltan is a trade name for columbite–tantalite minerals containing tantalum and niobium. Buyers normally assess the valuable oxide content and impurity profile before choosing material for downstream processing.
Grade & buyer requirements
A 30% Ta₂O₅ request is supported by marketplace listings. Tantalum pentoxide content is not the same measurement as elemental tantalum metal purity. Ask for Nb₂O₅ alongside Ta₂O₅, moisture, particle size and the complete impurity assay; agree the sample and reporting basis.
Applications
Feedstock for processors recovering tantalum and niobium. Those metals are used downstream in electronics and industrial materials after appropriate separation and refining.

Discuss lined bags or sealed drums with lot identification. Agree net weight, moisture limits and handling requirements with the receiving processor before quoting.
